Please bring a current headshot and resume.
16 bars of a rock song NOT from a musical.
Please bring music with cuts clearly marked.
LIZZIE BORDEN- female, 18-25
Rock mezzo with strong high belt and head voice. The youngest daughter in the house of Borden. Murders her father and stepmother with an axe. Deranged and damaged. She can turn on a dime from broken, fragile, meek and obedient to conniving, diabolical, sinister, furious, and terrifying.
ALICE RUSSELL- female, 18-30
Pop/rock soprano with strong mix. She lives next door to the Bordens and “visits” Lizzie often. Secret, sweet and seductive, with a sightly maternal compassion in her affections for Lizzie.
EMMA BORDEN- female, 25-35
Rock alto/mezzo belt. Older sister to Lizzie. Resents her father’s second wife. Possessive, strident, and commanding. Enraged, but also incredibly desperate and sad.
BRIDGET SULLIVAN- female, 25+
Rock mezzo. Housemaid to the Borden family. Sings with an Irish dialect. Sly, with a dark, dry sense of humor. Quick on the uptake. A rock-n-roll nihilist. Our narrator.
